This is a very early advertisement/marketting opportunity...

In 2012 I am hoping that an online journal (refereed international) will allow a special issue written by, edited by and referreed by PhD scholars. I have requested that if there was enough interest, it could be dedicated to Creative Industries scholars from Australia.

I am thinking the areas that would suit a complete journal theme (and the one I have proposed to the editorial team) is "How can Universities and indeed Research Departments measure Excellence in 'impact'  in Creative Arts publications (books, articles etc)? This would sit really well in time for the discussions on the new metric Excellence in Impact, Australia and would sit perfectly alongside the research and publications in this area written by our supervisors, academic mentors and colleagues.

I will be calling for expressions of interest through paper abstracts, early in 2012 if we get the go ahead. It woulod be great if we can unite with our fellow phD scholars in all Creative Arts on this one.

The second opportunity is a book to be published by Common Ground on the future of publishing, knowledge sharing and copyright for the new electronic information age. I will let everybody know when this is happening also. This is not just for PhD students but will have submissions and chapters from all around the world. This has come about after my stint as Graduate Scholar at International Conference on the Book in Canada, and in consultation with a publisher keynote speaker.
