Write about an early memory. If you're stuck, think of a rite of passage, a first time of some kind; for example, your first day at school, your first pet, your first bicycle, learning to swim, etc.  Now consider how you might use this material or part of it in a fictional story.Was your memory influenced by family photographs or by other people's versions of the same event? How reliable is memory and how do writers use memory?
