Congrats Uni Canberra

The Research Workforce Training Strategy workshop for so called "less research intensive Universities" today was fantastic. So perfectly focused and targetted. Many HASS organisations could learn from the program the immediate areas of "evidence-based" research and data requirements to strategically position disciplines, faculties and even Institutions in the current period of policy change and flux. Sharing, collegiality and transparency of best practice is the true nature of embedded Universities ( Tim May SURF Inst circa 2009) and harks back to the role of Universities in knowledge transfer, social good, empowerment, education and access challenging the past dominance of the econometrics driven  Corporate Managerialism mistakenly imposed by strong and strident lobby groups outside University sector.

Do I sense the scales rebalancing finally after 30 years of rhetoric and discriminatory discourse?

Thoughts anyone? I am currently pulling together a monograph on the idea of knowledge sharing, dissemination and the value of Creative Commons. Chapter summaries and ideas gratefully accepted. Monograph being pitched to publishers (global) early 2012. Think e-research, on demand publication and print runs, access, equity etc.

Contact me via cacroker@gmail.com as this is separate from my CAPA "hat".

Thanks.
